Date your Godin

Thankfully, Godin has a very consistent dating protocol. With the information below, you will be able to find the exact build date and production number of your guitar. Let’s break down a serial number…

AABBCDDD

AA = Year
ex: 02 = 2001/2002 (it will make more sense in a second...)

BB = Week Number
ex: 45 = 45th week of the "Godin" year*.
*This is the tricky part: The week count starts the first week of August and ends with the last week of July. This will also determine the year of production since, at Godin, the year 02 (see AA) starts August 01 and ends in July 02.

C = Weekday
ex: 4 = Thursday
1=Monday 2=Tuesday 3=Wednesday...

DDD = Number of production for the week
ex: 142 = The 142nd guitar built that week.

This means, for example, that a guitar with a serial number of 02454142 was built on Thursday, June 6, 2002 and that it was the 142nd guitar made that week.

Additional information:

"AA" and "AAA" at the end of a serial number = Grade of the maple top
"F" in the serial number = B-Stock from the factory

I hope it helps!
