with a few simple mods those become even more killer. They are a pretty good pedal for sure.

Fulltone makes some great units, but I just have the Fat Boost by them. It thickens things up right from
the start and really helps tone substantially in situations where you can't get loud. It also works great with
small Bass rigs and pushes SS gear more into the tube tone range. I whole heartedly agree that the RAT
is a real classic and mostly use it to push and put the squeeze on the input stage of my beloved Princeton
Reverb. Here is where I'll get up on a soapbox again and state that effects are to be used in the service of
pre existing great tone and should not be relied upon to carry the bulk of the load. Being able to play in the
firt place is still king as you can have all the pedals you can afford to buy 9 volt batteries for and still
get creamed by some kid savant playing a piece of firewood with no extra cheese.
Carl Martin makes great stuff I can't really afford, I have a Fender Tube Reverb and the only other things I use are a MXR super comp and a Goyatone Tube Tremolo on amps that don't have them integrated on board. Be sparce and selective!

Not sure about favourites, but I tend to drift towards a Marshall Guv'nor or Seymour Duncan Lava Box for distortions, Boss chorus, Dunlop Wah-wahs, MXR boost. Besides these there are lots of other pedals that come and go from my board. The perfect pedal for anything has yet to be made. When I'm lazy I use a simple Boss ME20 for band practices.

Peace, Mooh.
